Florian is responsible for company strategy and for analytics development at Mergeflow. Before founding Mergeflow, he worked in software development for operational risk management at institutional investors. He also worked as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge (Department of Computer Science and Department of Genetics). Florian has a PhD in Cognitive Sciences from MIT. While at MIT, some of his work on information extraction was funded by DARPA. Together with Ted Gibson, Florian wrote a book on coherence in natural language, which was published by MIT Press.
Jürgen works as a financial engineering consultant for Credit Suisse, UniCredit, and others. Previously, he worked for Perceptronics (a distributed simulations provider), and developed software for electronic dictionaries at cleverLearn.com. Jürgen has a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Southern California.
Richard is responsible for company strategy and software projects at microstep AG. microstep provides solutions for financial engineering, risk management, and the energy sector. Richard has a Dr. rer. nat. in Physics from the Technical University Munich.
Ted heads the language lab at MIT (tedlab.mit.edu). Research in Ted's lab investigates how people learn, represent, and process language. The lab uses a variety of methods, including behavioral experiments, statistical modeling, electrophysiological measurements, and neuroimaging. Ted has a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
